Truro City 1-2 Bromley
Truro City 1-2 Bromley

Bromley recorded an absolutely vital win down in Cornwall to keep their chances of staying up alive going into the last two games thanks to a spirited display in torrential rain on a near waterlogged pitch.

The game started with both sides looking to attack providing and open and entertaining spectacle, Bromley had a long spell of possession, but failed to really create any clear chances right up until near half time when Michael Malcolm had a powerful shot blocked by the home Keeper.

Late on Truro had a couple efforts that finished wide of the mark, but neither side could find the net. The second half saw Truro dominate the early play and they were in front on 48mins when Watkins cashed in on poor defending to make it 1-0.

Soon after Joe Welch made a great double save from Yetton before The Ravens hit back on the break when Malcolm raced clear of the home defence and coolly slotted the ball home to equalise on 56mins.

Malcolm & Anthony Thomas both went close soon after, while Walker and McConnell both had chances for the home side. The decisive goal came on 77mins when Referee Parsons awarded Bromley a free kick just outside the box.

Danny Waldren struck the ball well and a deflection off the wall sent the ball spinning into the corner of the net. Bromley battled hard on the rain sodden pitch to preserve the lead and Welch made one great save from Barry Hales in injury time to keep the three points for Mark Goodberg’s side.
